Most of the time we know the sound of a good number of animals, especially the most majestic ones that inhabit the African continent, such as the Lion or hyenas.

In the other way, there are many animals from which we can do not know their sound as is the case of giraffe, you have certainly wondered what sound do giraffes make?

How do giraffes communicate?

If it is true that giraffes are few animals known for their ability to produce sounds, however, this does not mean that they do not communicate with each other, in fact, they have a fairly effective communication system.

The communication of giraffes most of the time is of the nonverbal type, that is, they only communicate with gestures and movement.

In the case of males, when it comes to discussing these usually go to blows, a type of behavior and communication that is not seen in females of the species.

The sounds of giraffes

Fairafas may emit a few sounds, these are related to mating season or breeding, but the most common are:

Shings, giraffes mostly mothers emit a whistling roar sound that they use to alert off the young and other giraffes of possible predators.

Giraffes can emit infrasonides

Although there is not much information regarding the communication of giraffes, some scientists indicate that giraffes could communicate more complexly than humans and therefore we cannot perceive all the sounds they make.

For it, it is believed that they can communicate at lower frequencies, which are not audible to the human ear.
